a) "You're the Tiger Woods of NFL fans" made me happy.

b) I know. The wildcard is a bit nutso. We'll see what happens.

f) "my three teams" indeed. There's an order. When I was in middle and high school the order was 1) Oilers, 2) Dolphins. Now it's 1) Steelers and a tie between the Texans (Oilers!) and Phins for 2. Sorry. I may be a bigamist, but I love my ladies dearly.

a) I'm sure Dan would LOVE to hear that you own BOTH of his jerseys, but will root for Pittsburgh over Miami in week 17. You're a sports bigamist! You're the Tiger Woods of NFL fans!

b) Make no assumptions about good teams that SHOULD win late in the season against bad teams. That's where the term "Any Given Sunday" comes from. Denver lost to Oakland on a Jamarcus Russell touchdown drive. They CAN lose to KC. Besides, the Chiefs already beat Pittsburgh this year. The two wild card teams in the AFC could easily lose their last two.

f) "My three teams..."? Sports bigamy!

a) I still love Miami. I didn't dump them. I love them terribly. In fact, I take great pride that Dan Marino is FROM PITTSBURGH. And went to Pitt. Where I teach. And own both his Miami jersey and his Pitt jersey. So much love there. If Miami went to the playoffs, I would root for them. Forever.

b) If Denver beats Kansas and loses to Philly, then they still have a better conference record than the Steelers and most everyone else on the list. That's the thing. They need to lose in the AFC.

c) I've been a Steeler's fan since 1998, when the Oilers were out of Houston. Ask my father. He hates this about me. In fact, as Michael Semper. He was at my house when the Steelers lost to the cowboys in 1996. Elizabeth Alvarez baked a Cowboys cake. I refused to eat it. And I live in Pittsburgh. It's not really a bandwagon when I live there. And have lived there for three years.

d) I would be very excited about the week seventeen play-off like situation. It would rule. But I would pick the Steelers over the Dolphins. Why?

e) Because my project this semester was to become a Steelers fan. Not to continue my love of the Dolphins and (also) the Texans.

f) I guess it's evident that I really hate the NFC. I don't like any of its teams. My three teams are all in the AFC and contending for the wildcard. ::sigh::

g) The Bengals, the Oilers, the Browns, and the Steelers were all in the AFC central. I grew up hating the Bengals and the Browns. And my father hates the Steelers more than anything. But I really liked their uniforms. Those little Steel stars. They really appealed to me as a child.

h) I hearts ya, Jav.

Here's what's funny. If Miami and Pittsburgh win on Sunday, they could play each other in playoff-like matchup in week 17 in Miami for the last playoff spot.

Pittsburgh can (not should, can) beat Baltimore and Denver should lose to Philly (the hottest team in the league). That would open up the last two playoff spots for EVERY current 7-7 team.

I would LOVE for Pittsburgh to have to go to Miami with a playoff spot on the line for both teams... and to have the Dolphins put an end to the Steelers season.

Miami, THE TEAM THAT YOU DUMPED, has a chance to knock out Pittsburgh, whose bandwagon you jumped on only AFTER they won the Super Bowl. It would be incredibly poetic.
